Question of the day

Why is Harbhajan Singh still India's first choice spinner in T20's?

1) The Indian players are sadists and like being verbally abused often. Nehra's foul mouth alone doesn't cut it anymore.

2) They miss Navjot Singh Sidhu

3) He is sleeping with Geeta Basra.

4) If he is not on the field, he is on the streets of India, which is worse.

Because dhokEbaaz PurNA hasn't kept her word of using her special powers to decapitate, deflate and destroy him away from international cricket

I wonder what tournament you've been watching, Rishabh. Nehra has 9 wickets in 4 games, Harbhajan has 0. No offense but your attitude mirrors that of our team - Fuck taking wickets, let's just try and keep the runs down and hope to God our batsmen score one more run than our bowlers give up.

The losses can't be blamed on our bowlers (except maybe Jadeja). In this format an economy of 5.5 in 16 overs is just as important as taking wickets. Our batsmen have been under par, and that's why we haven't been able to make any decent totals!

Mahek and Rishabh, no point in pinning the blame on batsmen or bowlers alone. Batsmen have been found lacking against quality pace bowling. Bowlers have been very defensive in not going for wickets.

And another big part of the blame rests with Dhoni and his strategies. One could have forgiven the loss to Australia if Dhoni had shown an inclination to learn from it and improve over it against WI. But it was not to be!

Rishabh, what Mahek said. How is he your top bowler?

raj, NO! I tried...but Dhoni gave me a Max Mobile and then...

I think Rishabh was pointing out to Bhajji's economy rate in this tournament which is pretty good. Much better than the other bowlers. I think the question of the day should be why is Ravindra Jadeja in this team? He can't bowl, he can't bat, he definitely cannot field or catch, he has not played cricket for a looong time, he was not there in the IPL as well, his performance so far has been pathetic and yet he was there in the team for the crucial match against WI.

The other question of the day should be, has Yusuf Pathan played a good innings for India ever? I know he has a few good knocks in IPL but I cannot recollect a single good innings when playing for India.

Rayden, I think we are being a bit harsh on Jadeja. His performance was disastrous - no two ways about it. And I also admit that he should have been replaced by Vinay Kumar against West Indies.

But he is a promising young left arm spinner. I mentioned in my blog (http://cricsis.blogspot.com/2010/05/team-india-takes-beating.html) that: "The Watson 6s knocked the confidence out of him... and the Warner 6s ensured that he'll not be able to regain that confidence in quick time."

He will need to do some confidence rebuilding soon. And as far as your views on Yusuf Pathan are considered, they are very similar to mine. He needs to prove himself against a quality international attack in a pressure sitation to become a finisher for India.

Yeah, I actually was talking about economy. He's bowled 16 overs for an economy of 5.5, and he hasn't allowed any batsmen to go after him. Stopping runs is as important as taking wickets in T20 - if he bowled all 20 overs, the opposition would be 110 for 0. It is the back-up bowlers who have disappointed, though the blame lies with the think tank for picking them in the first place.
